Sabres:

lose 5 mil in cap space

Jets can add extra sweetener for Johnson if necessary. (an extra late draft pick)

Alex Iafallo: Can play on any line. Great defensive winger, okay offense. Can play 1st line minutes in a pinch. Penalty kill and net front on Powerplay. Weaknesses: not much, maybe poor offense for stretches. An upgrade on Jordan Greenwood on 3RW.

Rasmus Kupari: Center, young with middle six upside
Strengths: Very fast, strong forecheck, good defense
Weaknesses: Poor offense. Still young and can improve but time is ticking. Should compete for 4th line spot.

Flames:

gain 4.4 mil in cap space

Ryan Johnson: 2019 31st pick, projected to be a solid 2LD. Played all 4 years of college and is entering pro. Main strength is skating. Sabres fans fill me in on the strengths and weaknesses?

Chaz Lucius: 2021 mid 1st round pick. Top 6 upside, likely NHL player by 2025 if healthy. Fast, dynamic skill.

Jets:

gain around 500k in cap space

Rasmus Andersson: Will become the Jets best RD, 2-way, very team friendly contract with 3 more years, which is why the acquisition cost is steep.
Flames fans fill me in on the strengths and weaknesses?

Quoting: Augustus
Andersson, when on his game, can be really sneaky good offensively, exits the D zone well, skates reasonably well, and defends well, more of an all-around first pairing guy, certainly not on the level of Makar or Heiskanen, or Morrissey, but, say, John Carlson comparable, without the power play of Ovi, Backstrom, Oshie and Kuznetsov of years past to pad his assist stats (if you account and adjust for age). Perhaps prime years Tyson Barrie with the overall defensive part figured out, and a little less of a power play QB than Barrie or Carlson were.

What I see as potential weaknesses is that he seems to have these streaks where he gets frustrated and his game suffers, sometimes you can see it on his face. When things aren't going well he can tend to pout a little bit instead of stepping up and taking a game over.

This is a revision of a previous trade which determined that the Sabres and Flames didn't get enough value.

You literally didn't read a single word I said.

You basically just made the same trade.

You overvalue iaffalo and kupari. Undervalue Johnson.

The pick swap is a significant upgrade.

I overvalued the players not on your team and undervalued a prospect in your team's system? how interesting.

Is it close now?

The pick going to Calgary needs to be a late 1st.

Lol, I'd gladly ask Detroit to beat that for Andersson.

That's not meeting in the middle. The middle would be adding a mid to early 2nd.

You wouldn't like it, but better than 3rd rounder, Lucius, and a bottom pairing LHD lol.

What is more valuable, an early/mid 3rd with a late 4th or a mid 2nd? If not close just add a late round pick to even it out.

Does your package for Andersson center around AHL defenseman Simon Edvinsson?

15OA, 2nd, Wallinder, Berggren beats it rather easily.

Not that you made it hard lol.

BUF could get Iafallo for a lot less than Johnson.....and would probably rather get Andersson for themselves...

CGY wants a better pick (as mentioned a late 1st/early 2nd)....

WPG would be extatic to get Andersson.... but it would take more to get him

The picks are a good start but Calgary would much prefer Lucius and Johnson over Wallinder and Berrgman. Make it one better player/prospect then those two (preferably not a small player unless he's *really good) and your Detroit offer would work.

Lucius > Berggren. I'd personally say Wallinder > Johnson.

Either way, I'd essentially equated the trade to 1st = Lucius and 2nd + Wallinder + Berggren >> 3rd + Johnson.

Man, I think I figured it out... since the Sabres have Byram now, I wonder if they would ever, ever, ever, ever accept Andersson and Calgary's pick, 9th OA, for Owen Power... damn that guy would be great for Calgary. But I kinda doubt the Sabres would consider that to be enough for their Hedman clone (not there yet, but he's still young).

Dahlin - Andersson
Byram - Jokiharju
Samuelsson - Clifton

Actually, I can guarantee they won't want to trade their big boy Power unless a higher pick was involved with Andersson. He's likely to be that good.
