Realistic Action Off-season
Way too much for Markström. Don't see the Flames being in any position to command a return including Alexander Holtz at this point in time.
Maybe more realistic to swap Holtz out for Chase Stillman or Josh Filmon.
Tampa isn't doing that.
I like Stenlund for 4C, he'd be good on this Devils team.

Not trading a 1st line winger in his prime for 2 years of injury riddled Demko.
Goalies do not hold this amount of value on the trade market, even ones as good as Demko is.

Leafs Acquiring 10th Overall Pick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div>Who could they even be interested in other than Markstrom or Gustavsson+ who only got 2-years? Maybe Gibson+ or Binnington+? Demko is the guy that would make the most sense for NJ but I don't think Silovs has proven enough to be relied upon as the starter for this to be Schneider trade 2.0. A Swayman sign and trade would be a possibility that suites NJ's needs but I don't think BOS is doing that. Since they have Allen, maybe Askarov could be an option. Can't really think of anything else.</div></div>
Personally, I'm gunning for a pick swap with Wild with Minnesota sending Gustavsson to the Devils as well.
Pick #10 for pick #13 + Gustavsson.
Goalie with term and keeps the Devils picking fairly high in the draft, whereas Wild run Wallstedt and Fleury as their tandem for 24-25,

Busy offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sceptre</b></div><div>If I was Fitzgerald and this was the trade to get Saros to NJ, I'd do it.
Holtz is replaceable via free agency. Casey is blocked by Hamilton-Nemec-Marino.</div></div>
The solution is to trade Marino for a good package when Casey is ready to play, likely next season.
The solution is not to deal Holtz AND Casey for rental goalie (even one as good as Saros).
Devils should 100% not do this deal.

Jarry

Smith / POJ
...for #10?
This is a terrible deal for the Devils.
100% better off just picking Catton, Eiserman or whomever else they like at #10.

Much rather rent Ullmark or Saros for the one year than Markström for two, given that the latter is a fair bit older than the former two and is in serious risk of falling off a cliff (if he hasn't already given his poor play post TDL).

#10 alone would pretty much be an overpayment as far as trading for goalies go (even goalies as good as Saros).
Adding Casey on top of that is wholly unprecedented in the cap era.
No chance.

Think less Jarry, more Swayman when it comes to trading pick #10 for a goalie.

There's zero reason to throw all those assets Flames's way when better goalies like Ullmark or Saros can be acquired for similar or less.

Ehlers Palms and some other rehashed mocks for yall to enjoy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Icelander24</b></div><div>Isles easily decline that. Maybe a deal around Palms and a 2nd for Holtz? Don't forget he scored 30 goals last year, he's still a valuable 2nd line guy</div></div>
Holtz wouldn't be on the table for a rental, and certainly not Kyle Palmieri at that.
I love Palms and his game but that doesn't change the fact that he's 33, has an mNTC and commands a cap hit the Islanders could do well to be without.
If he is traded, the team trading for him will be buying low. Not high (and certainly not as high as frickin Alexander Holtz).
Plenty of other interesting middle six options at wing in FA if Palmieri is unavailable - Arvidsson, Foegele, Marchessault, Teräväinen, Duclair etc.

He's good, real good even.
And Landy went extremely team-friendly on his AAV, could've gotten a lot more.
Not that I'd be complaining if Ehlers would extend for less term / cap if offered.

I like Ullmark as a target for NJ but he wouldn't fetch either of these pieces alone in a trade, to say nothing of both of them.
I mean, even for Swayman your suggested trade would be a clear overpayment by the Devils.

Canucks should remain a powerhouse next year and Boeser will be a huge part of that.

Do These Trades Make Sense For Both Sides - With Detailed Explanations
Wrong on Schmid falling out of favor. Having an underwhelming year is not equivalent to a fractured relationship with the Devils organization.
Schmid is still waiver exempt and letting him (and Daws) develop for one more year in the AHL wouldn’t be an issue for the Devils. Schmid remains a very talented goalie and odds are that he will develop into a solid backup at the NHL level eventually.
All this to say, there is zero need in dealing Schmid for an AHL bottom sixer in Cederqvist that doesn’t have much of any development left in him. Devils are already fairly strong at wing in terms of prospects anyway.
Where Schmid to be traded it’d likely be in a package for an impact goalie (Saros, Ullmark etc). Certainly not for an AHL of very limited use for the Devils.
