Projecting what we have core wise

Created by: Rob32sjsharks

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Looking at our 25 and under to gauge what we have and need and this is a pretty clear picture.
Sharks forward group needs a top RW, and a big defensive minded power LW for the 4th line, a top pair D plus a 2nd pair RD and goalies.
5 big pieces and a backup goalie and depth power Forward.
With the Pit 1st plus our 1st in 25 plus Vegas 1st that could be 3 of those bigger pieces, we also have 3 2nds on the next 2 drafts and a lot of cap space to add so sharks are looking pretty good so far in this rebuild. But we need to keep finding prospects and develop them.

I love him, but I'm not sure Eklund will be a true #1 winger. I think Emberson is more likely to be a bottom pairing defenseman as well.

Emberson yes, I wouldn't rule Eklund out yet, but if he would be playing 1st line on a cup contending team, he would obviously have to continue to improve, but he is young.

Nice analysis. Think Havelid will ever play for the Sharks?

Embersom and Thrun are 4-6 type guys IMO both will have solid 2nd pair years and weaker 3rd pair years IMO

And Eklund and Musty are very good 2nd line projections with a chance to be a top line guy! Look at the top lines in most playoff teams, they have 2nd even 3rd liner with 2 studs often!

Right now I say no, especially with Cagnioni being small but more defensive and a higher offensive ceiling. But once he comes over to AHL that thought could change in time, Laroque and Fischer also have potential to grow and become NHLers but right now I see them as AHL tweeners.

I had a Celebrini Martini! Equal parts vermouth and Gin with a few Blackhawk and Duck tears.
