Created by: Hammerwise
Team: 2024-25 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: May 14, 2024
Published: May 14, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Probable picks at 12th are defenders Zeev Buium or Carter Yaremchuk (to add to Emil Andrae and Oliver Bonk) or Cole Eiserman. Later picks are probable forwards Michael Hage, Beckett Senecke or defender Cole Hutson.

Acquiring Wright and Stephenson give long term quality Cs with Frost and one of Poehling/Dvorak on 4th line. Quality vets and solid two way players to go with kids or offensive guys (Frost/2 way Farabee with Mitchkov, two way Stephenson with Tippett and Drouin, Wright and Foerster with 2 way Cates, etc... Plenty of jam/grit at forward with poehling, hathaway, deslauriers still there.

Solid defenders paired with puck rushers on each pairing, good depth and balanced pairings. Drysdale surgery along with Risto injuries has Barron covering at RD and Seeler at LD covers LD. Good mix of youth (York, Drysdale, Barron, Zamula) and Chyrchrun/Sanheim/Risto are all below 30 yrs old and good toughness/crease clearing/physicality with Risto, Seeler, Chychrun.

Taxi squad is first callups at each position with quality in Tuomala, Andrae.

Tons of cap space with expiring dvorak, johanson, Hathaway to cover RFA raises and lots of draft, prospect, trade capitol

If not Drouin, then Teruvienen

Easy no for MTL

Coots doesn't fit our window and would just be a cap dump for us in the long term

SEA probably declines. Konecny would definitely be the type of player who would help give SEA that scoring edge, especially on the 1st line with McCann and Berniers. However, I don't think it is wise for SEA to make that acquisition at the cost of Wright. Wright really seemed to put it together at the end of the season and has played well in Coachella as well.

Would definitely be interested in Konecny, but Wright wouldn't be the piece being moved by SEA

How do you have MTL adding? SC contract is a burden, not the 1 year of Dvorak.

No shot you have MTL being the one paying sweeteners to ruin their own cap for the next 6 years, Sean Couturier is close to PLD level of bad contract while also being much older.

Seattle probably says no to this. As AEcho pointed out, TK would absolutely help Seattle with some scoring, and some grit. But he's only under contract for one more season, AND he's a winger, which isn't the highest of needs for Seattle. Meanwhile Wright is a young center, and still on his ELC for another two seasons. Not saying a deal couldn't be worked on, just don't think this, as its presented, gets it done

Take out Barron and the 3rd, and Montreal still definitely decline. I'd much rather have Dvorak's contract than Couturier's.
