| | - | | Ottawa hasn't had a first round pick since the controversial Boucher pick, here they get the dream scenario and get Celebrini. Pretty much a lock for 1st overall, no matter what he will go here. |
| | - | | Between Demidov and Levshunov, I believe the pick will be Levshunov. Calgary seems to value size over anything in their prospects, and Levshunov being the bigger player I believe he will be the better fit. Valimaki didn't work out and the Flames just traded Hanifin away, so why not have a high upside D to rebuild the franchise around? |
| | - | | If the Sharks fail to land Celebrini, they would take Levshunov. However with both off the board I believe they will take Eiserman. There are better forward options, but Eiserman can boost their scoring as the Sharks biggest issue was lack of goal-scoring. Eiserman does need to adjust his game outside his shot, but coaches can easily teach defense and skating. |
| | - | | Reportedly the Blackhawks are high on Dickinson, but it doesn't make sense to draft him given that LD is the Hawks strongest position. I believe Lindstrom makes more sense, he will give the Hawks much needed size up front as well as speed. Puck handling and staying healthy are areas of concern but the combination of size and speed is extremely hard to find in many prospects, that alone will make him an early selection. From here, the draft really becomes a crapshoot. |
| | - | | Anaheim reportedly is looking for a RD and a right shot winger, and I feel like they should draft a player in the same position. Demidov is a RW but he's a left shot, so I see the Ducks passing on him. This is a big reach, but I see them taking Brandsegg Nygard. If Levshunov was available somehow, he would be the no brainer pick. MBN is a reach, but we saw how early Ryan Leonard went and how good he played this season. MBN is the exact same player, bigger but provides the same level of offense and grit. Just needs to work on staying out of the penalty box. |
| | - | | I don't see Demidov going past Columbus. This is the lowest I see Demidov being taken. Columbus has proven they aren't scared of taking Russians, Demidov would be the highest upside Russian they take to date. |
| | - | | Montreal is reportedly high on Lindstrom and Iginla, with Lindstrom gone I believe Iginla would be the pick. Personally I believe there's better options, but Hughes/Gorton have already spoken to Iginla in person a couple of times, so reach or not, I feel like he's already going to be taken. |
| | - | | Reportedly Utah is high on Yakemchuk and there's speculation by fans that they are trying to build a tall and gritty D core. Yakemchuk may be an offensive defenseman, but he can also provide both of these. Brent Burns type player: offensive defenseman that provides size and physicality on the back end. It will take a while to get the defense going, but the offensive potential is worth it here. |
| | - | | In their three years of existence, Seattle hasn't taken a D in the 1st round, with a draft full of D, the Kraken should take the easy opportunity to draft one. I see Silayev going here, he may be committed to Russia for 2 years but there's a lot of defensive upside in him. Also to note he provides size and speed just like Lindstrom. There's also some versatility with Silayev as he's been playing on the right side in the KHL this year. |
| | - | | I don't see Connelly going past the Devils. Either this pick gets traded for a goalie or they draft either a goal-scorer or physical winger. Talent alone, Connelly is a top 5 player in the draft, best skater in the draft and can pretty much do everything offensively. I see a lot of Jack Hughes in him as well. Ignore the off ice incidents, he's apologized for his shortcomings and has owned it every step of the way. |
| | - | | Yet again, Buffalo ends up finding luck during the draft. Dickinson is a steal at 11th, he's the most complete defender in the whole draft. Great two-way game and has one of the best shots in the draft. A top 4 of Dahlin, Power, Byram, and Dickinson would be deadly for the future. |
| | - | | Catton is a steal at 12th, I have him ranked #4 on my big board. Good in all areas, just needs to bulk up and use the body more. GMs tend to favor size over skating, and that's the reason why Catton falls here. |
| | - | | Buium is also a steal at 13th, Minnesota needs D more than a winger, he and Faber will make a skilled minute eating top pair in the future. |
| | | | After taking Eiserman, they take Parekh. RD is the Sharks biggest need, I see one of Parekh or Yakemchuk being available that this spot. Whoever is available is what the Sharks take here. |
| | - | | There are better forward options available, but Greentree brings the two things that Detroit needs in their prospect pool: size and grit. Solid power forward with such skill. |
| | - | | I feel like this pick could get traded up to grab a D, cause the Blues lack high end D prospects in their system. Here they take a slight reach and grab Jiricek. Could end up being one of the steals in the draft, if he hadn't gotten injured early on he would be gone by now. |
| | - | | This is a big reach, but if Hutson can develop the same way as Lane, this could end up being a smart grab by the Capitals. Small at 5'10" but Hutson has a solid two-way game and is one of the best skaters in the draft. |
| | - | | This will be a reach to many, but Stiga just feels like an Islanders type player: defense first winger but can also provide offense. Super underrated player, Stiga is a dynamic defensive weapon and is the second best skater in the draft. |
| | - | | It doesn't matter who Vegas picks here, I suspect they will be out of Vegas next year. But Hage just feels like a Vegas type player, I see a lot of Jack Eichel in him. |
| | | | Blackhawks get a steal in Helenius! This would be the furthest I see Helenius slipping to, he's the perfect playmaker for Bedard. A top line of Lindstrom-Bedard-Helenius would be nasty to think about. |
| | - | | LA currently has a lot of younger talent that are starting to blossom into elite players. But they don't have many LW in the system, and the upside that Chernyshov has is amazing for this spot. |
| | - | | Nashville will be the team to draft Bednarik. I see him going anywhere from 12-32, another underrated player given his two-way game. Just needs to act less selfish with the puck, sometimes Bednarik tends to not shoot the puck when the opportunity is clearly there. |
| | - | | Toronto is reportedly high on Elick. And it makes sense as they do need a shutdown guy for the playoffs. |
| | | | A bit of a reach, but Badinka has been a late season riser, and he addresses the Ducks wants for a RD. |
| | - | | The Avs get a steal at this spot, Boisvert is #13 on my board. Last year Perreault fell because of question marks with his skating, same fate happens to Boisvert. Skating isn't great and the consistency isn't there sometimes either, but whenever Boisvert is at his best, he's a solid two-way center. |
| | | | After drafting Celebrini, the Sens address their secondary need for a RD. I believe a goalie is their biggest need, but they can get one with their second rounder. Mews plays in the Sens backyard and draws a lot of comparisons to Erik Karlsson. |
| | | | The kid I compare most to Elias Lindholm, Hemming has been unreal defensively this year while still maintaining offensive standards. Will fit the Flames system extremely well. Levshunov and Hemming are two solid pieces to build the franchise around. |
| | | | Briere has confirmed the Flyers are still sticking to their plans of rebuilding, and it makes sense as the didn't make the playoffs. They went for a forward last year, they could use a power forward more but it would be a huge reach to get one. And there have been enough reaches already. If the Flyers can get Kiviharju back to his #1 overall status, this could end up being a steal. Flyers also wanted Makar back in 2017, Kiviharju plays a similar style. |
| | | | Montreal normally values hockey sense, character, and compete in all their draft picks. Parascak address all three of these and will gain attraction to Hughes and company. |
| | - | | The Hurricanes continue the trend of drafting a high schooler. Burrows is a reach, but he is so underrated and will address their 2C position. |
| | - | | Dallas goes BPA here. They have shown that from top to bottom, anyone is capable of scoring. Sahlin Wallenius is the best player available at this point. |
| | - | | The Rangers grab Ritchie, who's been a small late season riser lately. |
