Like this deal Buffalo gets ride of some cap and a defenseman which they lots of and Anaheim improves their defence for this year until they flip him at the deadline for a better pick then the 4th
Also R.I.P RJ we all loved you so so much and will be forever missed
This looks like a deal that makes sense for both sides. Anaheim needed someone with a pulse to play RHD this year. Lyubushkin was on the outside looking in after Buffalo signed Clifton and Johnson, so the Sabres did well to get a return for someone who was ticketed for healthy scratch status.
Lyubushkin gets a good reputation because he throws a few big hits, but the guy is a plug. Alright for the 3rd pair behind Drysdale and Gudas I suppose, I just dont see why Anaheim needed to make this sort of deal. That being said, it's fair value wise. If I had to pick a winner, I'd go with Buffalo
While he was probably a potential waiver pickup at start of season, the future 4th that's not even ours is close enough to free.99. Bush didn't earn his paycheck in Buffalo but he's better than replacement quality.
Verbeek playing nice with the other GMs in the sandbox, maybe building a trade relationship with Buffalo. It's still a relationship based profession.
Now hopefully Buff fans will stop sending us Smurf Bryson in ACGMs.
A bit more than I thought we'd get for him (thought around a 6th round pick). Had his moments especially the TB game winner in OT. Really inconsistent most of the year. Took a lot of dumb penalties. A 4th round pick for a guy that was going to be a healthy scratch most of the year is a W in my book.
Booch was on the last year of his deal and on the outside looking in . We was an expendable asset and better to get something for him than nothing later. He’s a solid NHL defenseman in tbe 3rd pair range with some Gritt and if reports are true a good teammate. Ducks fan will like him, sad to see him go but Buffalo feels they can upgrade.Fair trade for both teams
well yeah, its a known fact. it happens all the time that player get traded for pennies in the offseason or early season and get flipped for more at the deadline.
Klingberg was never traded for to begin with, cant really ''flip him for more'' if you didnt trade for him at the starts.

People thought Klingberg would easily fetch a 1st at the deadline. You can just look at the forum on the singing. He didn't even come close to that. Guys aren't guaranteed to get more at the deadline.
Boosh is a bottom pair d man who will be playing 15-16 minutes on a bad team. You want some comparisons at the deadline mr i follow trades?
Robert Hagg for a 6th
Jordie Benn for a 6th
Michael Del Zotto for a 6th
Yea a 6th sounds about right. Getting a 4th back would probably be best case scenario.

Thankfully they finally stopped sending him to TB. +
I think Anaheim is overcompensating for their past of being soft to play against. Gudas and now Lyubushkin can pretty much guarantee that 35 minutes a night someone can protect Zegras/Terry/Carlsson/whoever.
