I think he can... Yes, he gets injured concerningly high... But if you look at those plays that got him hurt, the team stopped playing defence for the last 15 seconds + unfortunate play...

I think the goalie coach will work with Woll to not get hurt in those scenarios

But your looking at this year

Look at him since 2019-2020

AHL

32 games
15 games
15 games
21 games

Guy even down there has not shown he can stay healthy enough.

And teams now know what they have to do to get him hurt make him stretch out. Not much a goalie coach can do when your injury prone. Its the person's body that needs to adjust but its not easy. Look at Scott were just lucky its not groin stuff yet

3rd 5 gamer this playoffs.
2 5 game suspensions for Klaw
1 5 game suspension for Sim

Also had a 2 gamer for Boulton and Sammy O earlier in the playoffs

The league office does not like London, and we just don't give a ****

They'll both be back after game 4 (mem cup or a game 5, whichever depends on if we win in Oshawa tomorrow)

The more I look whose out there this FA for goaltending

The situation were currently in for whose currently here along with Brad's comments about wanting the best goalie in the series and not second best

Along with whose in our division (Swayman, Bobrosky, Vasilesky, etc)

A Juuse Saros trade just makes way to much sense rn

I was listening to TSN 1050 Overdrive on my drive home today.

The conversation being had was about NHL player salaries.
Specifically why Marner makes 10.9 million VS Marchessault making 5 million, Verhaeghe making 4.1 million, and Konecny making 5.5 million.

Are these guys legitimate morons?
That's their cap hit and not the money they are taking home.

Why is the conversation always about cap hit and not about the money the players are taking home?
It reality Marner is taking home about the same amount of money as these guys after taxes.
Take home money is driving cap hit, not the other way around.

On another note Jeff O'Neil is ****ing idiot and should not be on radio OR TV to talk about hockey.

There's a bunch of things but Dubas also is a part to blame due to losing out on the other 2 negotiations and Farris being Marner's agent and throwing Marner's rep down the drain

After Rantanen signed his deal Marner should have went you know what 9.5m x 6 years and nobody would have batted an eye at him but nope he wanted almost JT money

But yea its kind of silly

Watching CAN almost blow a 6-1 lead with JT as the Captain

People shocked

Me first time lul

As we have seen some crazy leads blown by this team and while him being C or not has no correlation still pretty funny

The "take home money" is not what is on the NHL books and that's what it really comes down to. In the cap ERA, money allocation is important but as we're seeing, when money allocation becomes an issue when negotiating with players, term becomes equally important.

If a GM can't manage to figure out the balance between these things, then we see the team go through what the Leafs are in right now.

Yeah Rantanen is the comparable here and by those standards, Marner got more than he should have.

Remember when Nylander negotiations were going on? It got leaked that the Leafs offered between 9 and 9.5? Knowing what the contract ended up being, wouldn't it have been better to just offer 10 million instead of overpay another 1.5 million?

Just can't lose on negotiations every time.

Besides a goalie and Dman one thing TOR needs to try and get this summer is a proper third line

These playoffs we did not really have a proper one and it showed.

As while Robertson-Holmberg-Jarnkrok showed flashes it just wasnt good enough.

Van's third line is causing chaos these playoffs and we should try and replicate it

Im gonna have to google it as I dont remember

But man it sucks as we have so many good LW rn its like okay we dont have to rush him

At the same time he's proving to be to good for the OHL. AHL needs new rules for these guys as why the Euro and Russian guys get exception lul

But yea will be interesting as either way I think were fine but if I went by preference I say we kind of dont need him if Bertuzzi comes back. If he doesnt its wide open even with Robertson, Knies, McMann, Dewar, etc

The one issue is if Marner and JT dont waive were limiting ourselves either D wise or goaltending wise on who we can go get

Ehh, I'm not worried. If he can't hang, there is still room to grow at the O level

Thats what im thinking its just room and stuff thats the issue if Bertuzzi comes due to

Knies, Robertson, McMann, and Dewar (4th line)

Maybe one's moved idk

Will be interesting. As I could see him do the limit and go back unless he really impresses

Last guy to do that was also (at the time) a Leafs prospect playing for the Knights: Mitch Marner

I just looked at the individual team sections on CapFriendly and I’m surprised how few posts some teams had. I added them all up and at the time of writing, the Leafs thread has 1,419 posts (including this one) than the other 32 sections combined (Arizona, Utah, and 30 others). For perspective, a thread locked at 50 pages has 1,250 posts.
