Insert Boucher for the 3rd and I'd do in in a heartbeat. Maybe he can find something elsewhere, but he can't stay healthy enough at any level to get any better.

He plays wing in the KHL, but Wild fans seem to think that he is a C option (I don't doubt that the Wild management will attempt to try and make him transition to C when he comes to NA)

That's prob closer in value. I honestly have not watched alot of Rossi. Have you caught any of his play in the pros? What does he actually look like?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>Come on we all know Necas is gone next season</div></div>
I had a detailed description which somehow didn't save..oh well. Essentially in it I said that it's likely he moves but was just doing this scenario first since it's the simplest one without trades including him. I also think it's a coin flip that he gets moved - at the end of the day RFAs have some leverage but not all the leverage and canes aren't going to move him unless they find a fair deal that makes sense for them.

I like Rossi, but on the trade with the caps, McMichael and Rossi will be the same age to start the season this year. Tough one for me to evaluate. Rossi is younger and coming off a 20 goal year, but McMichael is much more consistent, has a better track record, and probably a better defensive player. I feel like they are close in value to each other, but a 2nd and a 3rd feels like too much for the gap between McMichael and Rossi, if in fact, Rossi is the better player.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>This has been such an interesting read, coming back from lunch to this was such a treat.
very much agreeing with you guys, Necas does not have the qualities you want in a center, but on the wing he is great</div></div>
ya i'm very confused by the debate here. he was drafted as a center, he was unsuccessful at the NHL level at center so they switched him to wing because that's what his skillset indicated he should be. Then he was an awesome winger. This is so commonplace I can't believe we're discussing it.
I'm pretty sure Kessel was drafted as a center and I don't think he played a shift at center in the NHL.

I see it different. Lambos is a meh defensive prospect and Stramel is just Boucher 2.0. A projected bottom 6 guy everyone knew was drafted way too high for what was around at the time.
The 13thOA is great, but we're also moving our first back. I'd take a base around 13OA for Necas, scratching the two mediocre prospects.

What does a PLD trade look like with no Ullmark
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>Doesn't mean he won't waive it, Granted he very well could hold out and force the Kings to buy him out or keep him in LA, but if things escalate that much he will probably turn into even more of a team cancer and they will be forced to buy him out</div></div>
He doesn't strike me as a type of player that's going to be compliant with getting traded. Maybe he would, but he seems very selective on where he wants to play so it would probably be a very poor return even if he does waive.

Nothing about his game screams he is better at C, not his faceoffs, not his D, not his possession metrics, nothing.
The league is filled with wings that are converted centers because they did not have the game for center at the next level.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>He's a natural center that sucks in the dot. That's the only knock on him. Defensively, he's fine. He's everything you want in a center minus the faceoff issue, and he is a natural center.</div></div>

Are you from Nigeria?
what those guys have in common is that they're basically awesome at everything - they're centers because they're just flat out good at hockey. once you get to the point of certain deficiencies, speed is way more important on the wing. lets take a player like david krejci for example. he was slow. he never could have stuck in the NHL as a winger. As a center? he might have his number retired for an original six franchise.

he's horrible at center. don't pay attention to that guy. other canes fans have chimed in to say that he switches his staunchly held opinion on what position necas should be every week. they've also confirmed what we all know - hes not a freaking center.
the bottom line is that he sucks at center. 34% face offs this year, trash defensively, and his skating really is more that of a winger.

Interesting Necas trade. Are people high on Stramel? Seems like a projected third line forward drafted wayyyy too high because of Guerin's love for defensive guys.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>What preference would you have to moving that pick? We shouldn't be moving this year's selection and 2026 is going to be a tough year for us most likely.</div></div>
I'm not moving 25 or 26 tbh, especially because "top 10 protected" on the 25 pick also would almost certainly come with "transfers to 26 unprotected if 25 pick doesn't convey." I think there's still too much risk and variance in this team's outcomes the next couple of years to make a move like that ahead of the season starting. Would have to be a real no-doubt superstar to make me consider it, pretty much only Marner with an extension.
The 24 one though I have no problem with if it's the right player. This draft is better than it gets credit for at the top, but really drops off steep right around where the Caps are at 17. Because of that, the certainty of where that pick lands, and the fact that even if everything goes right next year I still don't see them picking higher than like 21oa, I think if you're making a big splash that's the asset you use to do it.
Rossi I would 100% move 17oa for, although attaching Lapierre as well makes it more lukewarm for me. Ehlers (with some kind of indication he'd be willing to stay), Zegras, Necas are pretty much the only other forwards this summer that I think fit the bill for that kind of move. On D it's pretty much Chabot or Andersson for me, Chychrun or Hronek I wouldn't love but would understand.
