The whole argument of this vs that is so watered down.
He said she said - he started so I did it
It’s an argument that won’t ever end.
The league needs to make rules less subjective but that’s impossible. We all agree at the end of the day if your player gets cross checked in the face it’s not worth keeping in the game.
The league picked one play to penalize nothing we can do.
To me should make it to where crosscheck final min of a game in a scrum is the same as instigating a fight
Auto 1 game
NHL claims they want to crack down on this stuff well there yah go. That way we see what Zadorov, Soucy, and Hyman did again fine you sit a game and gain a record
I think we all know, at this point, it’s more or less clowning on the NHL/DoPS, like usual
Obviously...
Personally, I'd have given a game to all 4 of the 'main' players involved... Soucy, Zadorov, McDavid and Hyman
Any Oilers or Ducks fans wanting to complain; keep your emotions in check... Instead it's just sending the message of: if you're a superstar we like, you won't get anything... If you aren't and you do something towards that player, see ya
Nichushkin suspended without pay. Minimum of 6 months and then he can apply for reinstatement. Failed a drug test and now in stage 3 of the NHLPA Player Assistance Program

What do you think happens with the 6 months pay? Does the owner keep it, does it go to the assistance program or other account, or does it go to Nichushkin after he is reinstated? https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/colorado-avalanche-s-valeri-nichushkin-placed-in-stage-3-of-nhl-nhlpa-player-assistance-program-1.2120495

Also wonder what will it mean for the Avs cap space this offseason/next season

Very interesting, I guess his playoff run is over. Nice to know the Assistance program has some teeth I guess. Have to assume when he returned from the program this year, that there was a plan and things to follow and he didn’t comply

Well suspended for 6 months until he can apply for reinstatement, 6 months would be November 13th 2024, so still early season (assuming he gets the reinstatement). I think the Avs will have to plan with the assumption they get Val back early even if he doesn’t because if he does and they’re not ready, they’re screwed

Gonna be interesting to see how they navigate the off-season between this and Landeskog
