I had it to anyone who's played less than 75% of a season counts, anyone who's played more than that doesn't, which rounding up is 62 games.

It's comparable enough to where it's not worth it for the canes. I was hoping more people would comment on the Dallas trade not this :tearsofjoy

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>DAL trade is horrible for both teams.
DAL is already running Heiskanen at 1RD, having 2 1RD on a team doesn't really work. So they would never get full value out of McAvoy.
For BOS, you just destroyed your defense. Good luck with that.</div></div>
I was under the impression that Heiskanen could play either side, but either way splitting up the top two guys isn't a bad idea.
I mean yeah it's cool that the bruins have a good defense, but its entirely worthless when their first line center is Morgan Geekie. Bruins are wasting Mcavoys prime, and the rest of the teams prime. Defense is a position of strength, which you have to trade from to balance the rest out.

Ullmark probably has low 1st round trade value but if that swap happened, how much would it move the needle for CAR?</div></div>
Agreed, if they got Mittelstadt that would've been a sweet trade for them. As long as Svech plays up to his potential that's a dangerous team. If he's not playing 100% they really do lack a true star you need to win a cup.

2024 was just as good as 2018 and 2019, 2013 still the best though.

Putting numbers on position for cap hit
This is interesting. I actually think the Bruins have done a pretty good job of building the proper sized core, one high paid forward, one high paid dman, and a good amount of middle of the pack + value guys. Of course their team needs more talent, but the base is arguable there.
Teams like Toronto are screwed, however making lateral moves with their star players shouldn't be too hard.
Makes players like Stamkos and Reinhart, or maybe even Marchessault, seem less likely to return to their teams.

Learned a lot about this team this year changes need to be made
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bhavikp27</b></div><div>Agreed with lots of things except:
-Marchand is a 2LW, which is correct... But Lindholm is a 1C? Totally disagree. If you sign a player to a 5+ years deal, it's gotta be a top line player or one who's 29yo or younger. Lindholm isn't either and neither is Teravainen, they're both 2nd liners and 30 next season.
-Poitras has 33 games, I'll wait before saying he's close to being a 2C.
-Lohrei struggled most of the regular season and while he has been fine thru a short sample size in the playoffs, it's still a big bet. This doesn't factor injuries so they definitely need another legit 2nd pair LD.
-Can't work with $215K, there will be injuries and callups; preferably, we don't use LTIR.</div></div>
All valid points. Lindholm isn't a 1c, but he's the best you'll find, so he kinda has to be. I see him as a pretty good 2c, who's good enough to get us more out of Pasta, who will carry that line. Lindholm contract I'm ok with because it's not too much of an overpay for a 2c or winger if we do happen to find a better center, assuming his game doesn't regress more than anticipated with aging.
Lohrei I'm pretty comfortable with, of course a younger dman but the rest of the group is pretty solid defensively that I'm comfortable with it, especially since he's the only one with true offensive upside.
Poitras I get what you're saying, that might not stick, but worth a shot, and it worked alright this year until his injury.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>1. Just remove Ryan Mast. That kid wasn’t ready for Providence much less Boston. Regula or Mitchell might be an option
2. I think I’d rather have Freddy on the top 3 line and move Geekie to the 4th line. I don’t think he’s too good for it. If anything, this series should show we have shortcomings there.
3. Poitras isn’t good enough to beat out Coyle and the way they used him actually is how they use Marchand for the most part. Can’t put them on the same line</div></div>
Yeah the Ryan Mast thing was just a random sub, he's not ready. Insert random 7d there. Getting rid of Geekie would be necessary for cap reasons in this situation, I should've said he's more of an overpay for a fourth liner on this roster.
Poitras had Coyle beat for this season until his injury started catching up to him, so I wouldn't be shocked to see them go for a Krejci type pure offense line. Either way, I'd want to see him get good minutes.

a 4 year 6 mil would probably be a solid extension. Hard to gauge the market for him. Seems like his 4x5 was a slight underpay

Game 4 lineup

Dont think too much was expected of them going into the year, but after seeing how they performed for the first chunk of the szn, definitely felt like 2nd round was achievable. Now theyre showing that they are clearly not one of the top dogs in the NHL this szn and they cant compete with the high end teams
Id go Heinen over JVR if hes healthy and move Lauko to 4th line. Those 6 Dmen you have in are the only option IMO, Forbort, Griz and Shatty just cant keep up with the pace and physicality
Hopefully big improvements are made this summer</div></div>
I just made a 2024-25 ideal offseason team, it's pretty wild what they could do, fairly realistically. That includes resigning Debrusk and swayman to 5 and 7m deals, and signing E Lindholm, guentzel, and even trading for Rossi. All that happening is probably unrealistic, but it's not out of the question

Comment Who Where
Trade Coyle and a first/Lysell for Rossi, give him 2c, Poitras 3c, Elias Lindholm 1c until one of the younger guys pass him, then move him to wing.
Trade Ullmark for a pick or a 2RW, if it's a pick then resign Debrusk and put him there. Lysell at 3rw if not traded, but if traded put Geekie at 3rw. Sign Boqvist for 4c and move Beecher to LW.

Game 7 lineup with everything on the line
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SharkTank</b></div><div>I picked Leafs in 7 before the series started.
I didn't see Matthews missing so much time. 😬
Leafs just seem to want it more.
Bruins pop gun offense isn't good enough.
Leafs 2, Bruins 1 again tonight.</div></div>
Same, I actually predicted the bruins would go up 2 or 3 games to 1 and Woll would come in and win the series for the leafs in 7. As much as I hate that it's becoming reality, that's a pretty cool bragging right :tearsofjoy
The bruins offense is their downfall. Yes they lack talent, we all know that, but they really have no killer instinct and that's the real issue. Getting sick of Coyle and Zacha, Geekie, etc... They need a major change this offseason and nobody is untouchable for me, coaches included, outside of swayman/pasta maybe mcavoy.
A legit hockey trade is needed, and I do trust Sweeney more than any I would new GM who's gonna be too conservative with their moves.
