I agree on Quillan, I think he could make an impact quicker than a lot of people realize. I just listed those names bc they’re defence and I think that’s more of a weakness than F right now so they have more of a chance for more callups.

Cowan is a workhorse, not afraid to get in your face, just a horrible time to deal with. He has said numerous times to model his game after Kadri. (Just hopefully he won't get suspended every playoffs like Kadri did lol.)

I think TOR should def trade down if possible. If we could trade down in the first and get a n early 3rd I would love for them to get Elick and O'Reilly

Im honestly in the mindset based on various reports certain players currently in the NHL are available to trade the 23 OA pick

TOR getting a Rossi or a Necas for it wouldnt be so bad

They can always recoup a 2nd or 3rd via trading Robertson

I doubt he gets inked. No real room for another small scoring winger. He'll definitely get a contract eventually though, he's a genuinely solid player who could make some noise in some other system

I think he's getting an AHL deal with the Marlies

They have done similar with other guys and its worked

I'd be fine with that, I think it's worth it to see what he can do at the very least

So, when will the first move happen? What/who will it be?

My guess is Domi. The only UFA I want to return is Domi. The only RFA I want to return is Dewar. Trade Liljegren for a pick and Robertson for another RD (preferably one a little more physical and defensively reliable, ala Korczak). I really just don't see Robby and Lili being apart of Trelivings plans, ESPECIALLY Liljegren. Seems like he is all but gone. I liked Edmundson, but I guarantee adding more offense from the blueline will be the biggest priority. I don't think they want anymore lefties playing right. Montour will probably be our biggest target. Roy and Pesce will be close seconds.

This team should be extremely different next season. I doubt very many people are coming back

Does anyone know when rights expire for players time wise? Like if a player is expiring June 1, does his rights expire 11:59 PM May 31st, 11:59 June 1st, or another time on June 1st?

As per reports, Brandon Lisowsky of the WHL’s Saskatoon Blades, will not be signed by the maple leafs and will forfeit his rights tomorrow.

Lisowsky is a 5’9” LW drafted 218th in the 7th round of the 2022 draft

I expected this as he is quite undersized, but am disappointed as Lisowsky I think is quite underrated

The Leafs will have 2 NCAA players on their reserve list with expiring rights this summer, both on August 15th,

Veeti Miettinen, a 5’9” RW from St Cloud State Univ.

And Mike Koster, a 5’10 LD from UMinn

Miettinen was drafted 168th overall in round 6 of the 2020 draft

Koster was drafted 146th overall in round 5 of the 2019 draft

At this time there is no news about the other 2 players with rights expiring this summer.
