Negative, but MBN is a power forward. Big body doesn't back away from the corners, wins you pucks, has a nose for the net. Mostly an offensive Bull

I was coming to argue the same point. I think its very realistic that Eiserman drops to the Caps.
I strongly believe the Capitals will end up with one of MBN, Eiserman or Greentree.

Big fan of Nabokov. I think he goes early in the 2nd round though. Cannot see him falling to where the caps can get him. Personally if Nabokov is there for the late 2nd round I think we should take him but if he is selected before our pick I think we should 100% take Moysevich in the second or third round

Blow it up
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>qc14</b></div><div>They don't need stop-gaps in the middle 6. McMichael is 23, Lapierre is 22 and both have clearly outgrown the AHL. If they can't be at least comparable to Zacha over the next two seasons then you've got much bigger problems and I also don't want one of the three playing a sub-optimal role for their skillset on the 4th line. I just don't get the urge to bring in even more good complimentary guys at F when they only have one real driver in Strome to play them with.</div></div>
How would you personally view the Washinton depth charts at center? Personally I have it
Strome
McMichael
Dowd
Lapierre
(Only the top 4 I included, but Protas can easily also play center)

Elvis needs a new home
I find it hard to believe that they would give up on Skinner. Especially for Elvis but I would think Columbus would want Skinner if they made that trade.
I personally think Skinner is a better goaltender than a lot of people on this site.
I think the Capitals would happily trade Kuemper for him.

I was thinking he would be a good stop gap for the time being to have Strome, McMichael, Zacha and Lapierre would be a great center core. Give some time for the Caps organization to draft positions other than center and build the rest of the pool up and then get a center when Zacha's contract is over, or take one when you cannot pass one up

Fill The Gap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BoringBrianMacLellan</b></div><div>Oh yeah, the Caps future in net seems really stable. Gibby has been a stud for a long time now, and Chase Clark is solid too. And I really like the Keller kid they picked in the 7th round last year. I just firmly believe in easing goalies into the NHL rather than chucking them into a full time starter/backup role with no experience.</div></div>
I am hoping they draft the kid from Belarus in this year's draft. I am not very high on Clark personally. He can play well but he shrinks when the games matter. I like Keller as a depth piece for the future. I think if we draft Moysevich. He would be our future Franchise goaltender.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BoringBrianMacLellan</b></div><div>Elvis' buyout is cheaper than Kuempers. The idea is maybe a change of scenery can kick his game back close to where it was when he came into the league. If not, buy out the last two years, extend Chuck, and bring up Stevenson. I don't think thrusting a guy with 0 NHL experience into the full time backup role next year is the grandest idea, no matter how good he looks in the minors. I badly want Stevenson to succeed, I just don't know that next year is his time.</div></div>
I have a lot of faith that one of Stevenson or Gibson will be the next starter for the Caps. If you have watched Gibson in person he is a very very talented goaltender. I watched him at Harvard and wow

Merz has a bigger contract and would still be the backup. Its not really a good plan for us. We need to trade Kuemper and bring Stevenson up to grow into our next starter.

If free agents only
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brady_t12</b></div><div>Although if you move out Jensen and TVR and figure out a way to move on from Kuemper, you could probably make it work.</div></div>
Yes and no, We are going to have to then pay Charlie and Stevenson plus all of those already named. Jensen, TVR and Kuemper take up 13.3 million and that needs to then be shared across Charlie (2-3 million), Stevenson (1.5 as a bridge if he performs well), Miro (Bridge or long term?), Lapierre (Bridge or Long Term?), then you have Leonard on his ELC but after that he will need a big number and an ELC for whoever is selected this year.
Easy to say that Kuemper's Money would easily go back into the goaltenders. Than you have 7 million to sign Miro and Lapierre and down the road you need to sign the young guns that are going to be fresh on the roster out of the first round. Let's not forget that Cristall might make the team in that time frame, Funk might make the team, Sudz could and we still haven't extended AA, Iorio or MARTY.
Granted Ovi's contract is up when a lot of this is going to happen so i guess we could work it but it would be tight against the Cap when we were actively planning for the future of the Franchise.

Only issue I see is you have two natural left wingers one is Bert whom you would need to sign and the other is a scratch. Are you going to have all right wingers for every winger position?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Anti_Analytics</b></div><div>After we move on from Skinner- THEN, we can consider adding a player like Marner
But i think it would be hard to do BEFORE we move on from him- and it’s very unlikely we move on from Skinner this offseason. He’s here for at least 1 more year i think</div></div>
Honestly, getting rid of him sooner would probably be the best way to attack it, he had a good season last year and if he takes a step back from that it will be hard to move on from him
