If he can't make an immediate impact on DET than what makes him worth a 1st in EDM?
He's a better prospect than EDM's prospects BUT... he's not tearing the doors off</div></div>
Detroit signing too many forwards in free agency and then adding Kane along with his waiver exemption. The year before our team was absolutely devastated with injuries. Stevie signed players so we had depth. Berggren suffered for that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MT9</b></div><div>I’m saying regarding Krugs contract it will be easier to move with 3 years left instead of 4 like the guy originally said. After next season it then moves to a Modified clause. Armstrong already had a deal with Philly last offseason with Philly for Sanheim. Not like he will be unmovable forever imo.
I was not meaning Krug is easier to trade than Chiarot or anything like that</div></div>
I understand.
But yeah, been down this Krug hole alot. Doesn't make sense for us with where we are, unless like I said significant compensation which the Blues aren't or at least shouldn't be willing to do.
I think the Blues are going to have a couple transition years. Ride out the few years left of Krug, Leddy, Saad (not saying he's bad). Stockpile some decent picks and prospects. Trade Buch for a decent haul. Then inject the youth and this team should be good again in a few years.
I think the next few years are going to be similar to this year. Fringe playoff team but not bad enough to get a top pick.

Ok bud 3 x 6.5 with one year before MTC is much better than 4 and 2 years away but you keep talking from your arse too</div></div>
I don't get this. Did you say 6.5M x 3 is better than 4.75M x 2?

Chiarot actually had a pretty decent season. He may be overpaid but his style of game is something we lack.

Gost puts up points but is a third pairing guy, there is a reason for that. His offense really helped the team and made them not exciting to watch but we really need to get better defensively. That's why the addition by subtraction.

The contract being more money with an extra year is a very negative factor. We are going to be a cap team next year, alot of money going to Raymond and Seider. Walman or Seider can run the power play or maybe we go after Barrie for cheap. We shouldn't be in a position to add "worse" contracts unless it's worth while. I think you guys will be stuck with Krug.

You would have to add significant sweeteners to that Detroit deal to make them consider. Not saying Chiarot has a ton of value, just no desire to make that trade from the Wings perspective.

Devils Fans What is the ask from Detroit for 10
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rednwhite</b></div><div>I don't get how everyone keeps saying Eiserman has a low compete level. The guy dominated at his level and broke the NTDP record for goals. He was probably bored to be honest. He did everything he could this year and went from potential 1st overall to a mid round pick. He is a top 5 talent in my mind. Where did the low compete level narrative come from?</div></div>
Supposedly, and I can't say for myself cause I haven't watched him play, he doesn't back check and doesn't really work hard. It's easy to set up like Ovi, Stamkos and score goals. Wouldn't be a bad add though. I have mixed feelings about that.

Two seconds is likely too much, #47 would likely be enough. If it's not then no reason to do the trade from Detroit POV.

Catton and Iggy 2.0 would be good targets. I wouldn't move up to draft Eiserman. That's just me and I can see the draw to him. I'm personally not a fan of all offense players with low compete levels.

Well I wasn't aware you went and measured Stamkos' height. Just going by what they are listed at. Not sure why they would lie about height and weight. Weight obviously fluctuates so that's an easy one to be wrong about.

I think Walman + #15 is far too much for us. I'm not going to say Walman is super valuable but he has been playing top pair for the last two seasons and he has a very reasonable cap hit. I think he does get exposed a bit on the top pair as I feel he would be better suited for second pairing minutes, but he would be a pretty good second pair guy that can fill in top pair when needed.

I don’t think Walman gets it done. Wings aren’t moving any core young forwards. ASP maybe fits value wise…but neither the skillset nor the position are needs for NJD. Who am I forgetting?</div></div>
Wallinder and Buium but they don't fit the timeline of ready now. Walman could be had I think. I don't believe he's a long term solution. We would need to find a replacement and that likely means overpaying in free agency. Walman and a second would be the offer but I don't think it's the best one. There is potential for a deal to be had I think. I don't hate Ras and #47. We would really need to push for someone like Joshua, Trenin or Carrier to replace him but it's doable. Chiarot would fit the mold of physical top 4 D but his contract might not be ideal and likely still need something added to it. Chiarot with some retention plus #47.

Edvinsson is obviously a no go, you know that.
Second deal might be worth it if they feel Kasper is ready.
Be tough to lose Ras but could be worth it if Catton is available. Saving #15 to draft MBN would be best case scenario if we lose Ras. MBN could be NHL ready in 2025 to replace him I think.

He could be a potential 3C option for Jersey and it would make a bit of room for Kasper to take that spot if he earns it.

Seems realistic to me. Teams could change I'm sure but values aren't bad. Calgary really needs to commit to rebuilding. They already have some decent young players, if they got some key luck I bet it would only be a couple bad years before they are a playoff team again.
