    I think jets would accept. Why would the redwings trade away a probable top 5 pick in 2020 when their is a generational player available

    Not sure who you're referring to, but I highly doubt they win the lottery anyway so there's definitely no "generational player" to be had. It's expensive, and losing a 1st rounder in the 2020 draft hurts a bit (as it is quite deep) but this team needs some difference makers on D in order to ever come close to contending in the near or distant future. If Lindstrom and McIsaac can continue to develop this team could make some noise in 4-5 years.
