The Rangers prospect pool is definetly one of the best/deepest prospects pools in the league, and the future of the team is looking very bright. To note that the birth date <<upper limit>> is 1995. Ok, so let's start with the forwards. They have some good center prospects I'm high on like Chytil and Henriksson, who do have top-6 upside, but they don't really have that high-end top line center prospect, though they will have Zibanejad for years to come, so it's not that bad. However, they have incredible winger depth (especially on the right wing) as it seems like most of them could without a doubt play in a top-6 role. They may have the best winger depth out of any other prospect pool in the league. I'd give them an A-, as they have some areas they could improve, but they already have some really strong pieces.
Now, let's move on to defense. A top-4 made of Miller, Fox, Deangelo and Lundkvist is something almost everyone would envy. The thing is, they have TOO MANY d-men who have a pretty good shot at making the NHL, and they're really deep on the backend. Add a Jacob Trouba to that, and oh man. They could use maybe use a true 1D , but I do believe staying with this core will do wonders for the Blue Shirts. Rating: A
As for the goalies, I like Shesterkin's potential as a possible starter, but I do think that Georgiev could be a nice backup, as he showed in the past. The Rangers could also split the games 50-50 between Shesterkin and Georgiev, and I could definetly see that scenario presenting itself in the future. Lindbom was also really great at the U18's last year, but I don't have high expectations for him. Rating: B+
In summary, I think the Rangers have an exciting future, but they could use some help on the left wing and getting another goalie stud would not hurt them whatsoever.
