I could see how you came up with this as the pens have a history of making these trades. in the past few years, they have been on a mission to find a #3 C. I don't think they make this trade unless they make another to get a C

They just got Galchenyuk for Kessel. I'm assuming he can fit that 3C behind Crosby and Malkin.

I think they are planning on playing him on Malkins wing, although it is a possibility. I do like the trade though but I agree the Pens would probably have to go out and find another 3C unless they want McCann to fill that role.

From an Oiler perspective its more the thought of moving JP plus for a pick, and what that does for the line up (2PP, 3L, 4L). Can be Pageau in Ottawa, Eakin in Vegas, Zacha in New Jersey etc.

Is Galchenyuk a C or a winger? I'm sure a lot of coaches know the answer to that but for the Pens I see him playing with Malkin
