Return explanations:
Pageau: good 3rd line C, worth a 3rd.

Bonino: cap dump by Preds, need cap for next summer and they have too many C's. Decent 3rd line C. Overrated imo. Maybe a 3rd instead of 2nd, whatever.

Boedker: decent middle 6 scorer worth 2nd when retaining salary. Feels like it's do or die now for this Minny core. Feels like they'll splash coming free agency (like CBJ.)

Tierney: very nice 3rd line C. Söderlund is a player I like, don't know if he'll ever becon anything, wildcard. Tierney + retained salary worth a 2nd.

Eriksson: cap dump by VAN, HUGE contract and OTT would def want something back for taking on that kinda cap. Juolevi is a wildcard, but still has potential. 1st needed when taking on that God awful contract.

I know Gusev doesn't make a whole lot of sense (I mean why would he come to America just to play in a boring City, for a bad team, under the worst owner and management in the league?) but it would be a nice asset for Ottawa.
