I don’t know how he doesn’t get traded at the point. 3.1 to be the 7th best defenseman is way too much.

I have a feeling coaches/management see Eddy as either a pairing for Petro or Borts. Gunnarson is 7th IMO. But I do agree 3.1 is too much for Eddy.

Wait, why would we sit Gunnarsson? Dude led the league in War/60 last year and has had really good defensive metrics the last 2 seasons. He’s also probably the best penalty killing defenseman we have.

He played in 25 games last year... how can you say he "lead the league" when he played in a 4th of a season? He is solid and I have no issue with him being on our third pair. But I am saying Edmundson will get a chance to play over him.

It’s a per60 metric and obviously a small sample size, but there’s data from the last two seasons that also support it. He’s very very good defensively which makes him the best partner for a guy like Pietrangelo who likes to push the pace on offense.
