Let's assume Gurianov signs that because he'd be a young UFA after this and he would be offered a **** contract because he has no arbitration right. The return is only a 2nd round pick so Dallas will try to match even if they dislike the 4 years.

the "CARRYOVER BONUS OVERAGES" shown for 20-21 for Dallas is 3m. From what I understand, their true cap limit would be 78.5m cause the 3m would count in their 20-21 cap space.

Why target Dallas?

Dallas is a team with 14m left with a 17/23. Minus 3 bonus = 11m left with Faksa, Hintz and Gurianov to resign as RFA and Khudobin & Perry as UFA. They lack money for those 5 players.

If they go on and resign Khudobin before the offersheet can be made, they can be in trouble.

But afterall, they could buyout Cogliano and find a taker for Comeau and save 4-5m.

It can be a swing and a miss like the Aho offersheet. But maybe Dallas could accept 1+3 2021 picks if Gurianov was offered 4.4m...
