Nothing exciting indeed, but if you rather play Ouellet (lifetime AHLer) than Mete, it really shows you don't trust the player anymore. He asked for a trade already and even if he's RFA, it's probable he will not be in MTL next season.

Meanwhile Benn knows the players & the system (or part of it, it's now Ducharme). He's a "discount" Chiarot that would play on 2nd PK. But the main reason : no quarantine.

Would VAN accept that? More upside in Mete and they will most likely miss the playoffs : why not. MTL could add a late pick at worst

It would still be possible to chase Ekholm but you can't wait 14 days for a USA players to come with Ouellet in your line up

tldr : Benn as temporary solution instead of Ouellet
