Description
It’s going to be a busy off-season for the Coyotes, who will have roughly $30M in cap space once their pending UFAs come off the books. Armstrong has said that he is looking to make big changes and really shape the roster under his vision as opposed to the mess that he has inherited from Chayka.

Army has also said he’s looking to leverage said cap space to acquire assets from cap strapped teams this off-season. I didn’t include any of those type of trades because it’s hard to say who will be in that type of cap hell yet.

The Schmaltz trade could also be subbed for the Dumba for Schmaltz trade that has been discussed. It should be a priority to trade him while his asset value is still decent.

Assuming Keumper is not taken by the Kraken (I think the Coyotes should protect Hill), he should be traded to make room for Hill to have the crease, and sign a 1B type like Rittich to support him.

The rest of the signings are players I’d like to see on the team, but I’m not sure the Coyotes won’t just tank next season and let some of the kids play instead. Most of that depends on how the organization views Hayton and to an extent Jenik since they’re developing them both as centers. If they’re down on them, they may shoot for a top pick so they can add a true 1C.

That is quite the overpayment for Larsson.

With the goalie options available for Seattle, I doubt hill is a serious candidate for Francis unless you have no one else of value. Who is Arizona re-signing on defense to expose for the ED?

I agree but sadly it’ll probably take that much to get him to consider....

They can either sign Lyubushkin or they could do the Schmaltz deal before expansion. Or do both and gamble that Seattle doesn’t take Lyubushkin.

As for Hill, he’s probably not the top of the list by any means but I think it would be worth their while to protect him instead and try and get younger between the pipes. Especially if they’re going to tank for a better pick. Worst case scenario he turns into a legit #1.

I appreciate the response. What would it cost for us to send Gardiner to Arizona? Geekie +

I like the Kuemper deal but I don’t know that we would expose Ned at this point.

Assuming Keumper is not a part of the deal? I’m not very familiar with Gardiner’s play other than the fact that people on here like to hate him. I’d say that it would probably take something a little more enticing than Geekie if he’s really that bad, but again I don’t know for sure. What would you offer from the Canes perspective to be rid of him?

Im not a hater of Gardiner but is highly redundant and hasn’t produced the points we expected. You have a forward contract you want move? I would say we might offer Geekie and another good prospect or a pick. If you like Geekie. If not, we could do a prospect that is close like Cotton or Bokk and a pick. Gardiner could be your exposure requirement too.
