So with the recent Shea Weber news, I think it's time to do an ACGM on Montreal, who are in for an interesting offseason. Obviously, top priority will be to re-sign the player that helped them reach the Stanley Cup Final, while also bolstering the team. Firstly, you give new contracts to Perry, Danault and Kotkaniemi, but then things get interesting. Obviously, cap space should be saved for Caufield and Suzuki, but additions need to be made, starting with the Shea Weber sized hole on their blue line, which I have being filled by native Quebecer, David Savard. Savard is a great fit here as he is from Quebec, plays right D, and is very responsible defensively. After that, i have Montreal signing Fredrick Gaudreau, another Quebecer, and Matt Calvert simply an extra forward. Next comes the big deal, where I have Montreal trading Drouin, Poehling and their first this year for Evgeny Kusnetsov. This, in my opinion, is a great trade for both teams involved as Washington moves on from Kusnetsov and recieves two really nice, young pieces and a first while Montreal gets a slightly cheaper Kusnetsov to play 1 or 2c and they don't have to lose anything from their finals core. With Weber out of the picture, I have Seattle taking Cale Fleury as he is a decent, young defenceman but it isn't a large blow to the Habs nontheless.
