    Why would Montreal trade Desharnais to a rival team that they'll need to beat in the playoffs to advance?

    McCarron, if he's ever to be traded, won't be traded to a conference rival and certainly not for an RFA.

    Shaw will at very least, be in Montreal for the playoffs. That's why they got him in the first place. I do however agree that if it doesn't work out, maybe a trade would be best. However probably for another struggling player on another team that would also benefit from a change. Win now mode in effect, no need for picks...
