Minnesota isn't trading Marcus foligno. he's essentially untouchable because gm bill Guerin sers him like that. Ryan Hartman, and Marcus foligno are exactly like how bill Guerin was. Both were rewarded with 3 years extension at season's beginning.

- Also Minnesota isn't taking on Kerfoot, or especially his contract

Yeah maybe you're right, but everyone has their price, and with the cap squeeze from Suter/Parise coming in 3-4 years maybe a chance to pickup prospects and picks for a rebuild-on-the-fly might appeal.

From the leafs perspective, maybe they're willing to overpay for Marcus if they know it means they get Nick too and can have them pair up to solidify their third line.
