The age of bridge deals are done both these guys want top dollar and are worth it lock them up for term or walk them to free agency

Interesting, I had both Petey and Quinn at $13.5M combined as well (although had $250k more to Hughes, and $250k less for Petey). I put Dickinson at $2.65M, but he could go anywhere between $2.25 and $2.75. I find the Tatar signing interesting as I too looked at him as a good addition, however he would take away playing time from the young guys who need NHL time. If they're thinking about spending the $3.5M in room that would exist by the start of the season, they should spend it on the defence.

That said, my preference would be that they wait until waivers happen prior to the start of the season, or until trade deadline to pick up a serious rental or two.
