Description
Still don't know if we want Franson or not, but it seems like he's holding out on signing so that he can go to a cup contender.

I don't think we will be able to move Scuderi without retaining salary. It's going to be tough as it is, given his NTC. He's from NY, but not Western NY, so I don't know how realistic it is to think he'll waive his NTC to go to Buffalo. Oh well.

Now, in Dumoulin, Erixon, and Clendening, the Pens have 3 1-way contracts, and very little roster space. I think we will have to trade at least one in order to give us something in return, instead of risking losing them for nothing on waivers.

Finally, I do think Sundqvist will start the year as a 13th forward in Pittsburgh, likely slotting in for injuries or a plug once in a while for Cullen. The 4th line LW spot is up for grabs though. I don't know if Rust will be the guy to take it, but Rust, Wilson, and Sheary all have similar cap hits so take your pick.

      Mr Ram. Please read "Hibbits" blogs. They contain reasons why teams cannot eliminate a teams poor contracts. A budget minded, rebuilding team like Arizona does not want to accept Kunitz. Scuderi will be 37 in December, do you think the rebuilding Buffalos have any interest in him? Regardless of salary retention, name a team that would really want Scuderi. Cody Franson has not signed because no team has offered him the salary and the number of years he desires. The Ducks are the only contending team with salary room but have they offered him a contract? Franson to the KHL or 1 year in Edmonton.

      If Buffalo is rebuilding then why did they trade away the 21st overall pick for Lehner and Legwand? Why did they trade two good prospects(Zadorov and Compher) the 31st pick, and a player with potential still(Grigorenko)? lol.... I agree no teams would want Scuderi anyways. Also, Franson could also sign with Boston, there are plenty of teams with a spot for Franson if he decides to sign with them.

      If teams couldn't get rid of bad contracts, David Clarkson, Chris Pronger, Marc Savard wouldn't have been moved. (I know Pronger and Savard might be bad examples but i'm pretty sure you know what i'm saying. Bad contracts can be eliminated, but most teams don't want to take that contract unless they have a purpose or reason.)

      Buffalo made all those moved because they're rebuilding. They stocked up on assests now they're selling them for a return. Buffalo probably won't be great next year but perhaps competitive. That's a rebuild.
