our 1st round D picks SUCK.
Our forward group here isn't bad.
to be fair though we've drafted for the most part late in the 1st round with only 5 times being in the top 10. and of those 5 top 10 picks 2 were 9th OA, 1 8th OA, 1 7thOA, 1 6thOA, and none in the top5.
and all of our top 10 picks had fairly good success in the NHL (Milan 6th, Setogichi 8th, Couture 9th, Meier 9th, Eklund 7th)
of the two weaker picks from out top 10 picks Milan Michalek still had a 35 goal season with Ottawa and 4 other 20+ goal seasons.
and Setouchi had a 31 goal season and 3 others at 19+ before injuries derailed his career.

sharks have always had better success drafting Defensemen and Goalies later in the draft and grooming them.
