No, Ottawa isn't giving up Forsberg.

I don’t think Holland will trade Smith. I believe he will retire in the off-season, but for the remainder of this one, Koskinen, Smith may be our goalie tandem. I hope he gets a goalie, but I only see that happening if Smith retires now, or he stays on LTIR and retires in the off-season. I don’t think we should get Hinostroza even though he is good… we should target a top 4 RHD in my opinion at this deadline. Also, there is better goalies with term, or in free agency that we could get instead of giving Ottawa a second for Forsberg.

I'd would like to see them get an upgrade on D as well but I don't see it happening, sounds like the prices are too high for the assets the Oilers have to give up. I personally like the idea of Hinostroza, he can play a physical game in the middle 6 and give you some offence, plus he's good on the PK. I'd like to see them get someone better in goal with term but I think this is the most realistic, Forsberg can easily walk and likely will in the off season, maybe they get him for less but I think it could work out.

I too like Hinostroza but I don’t know if I would want to give the assets if he is not signing with us, or if it looks like we are not making the playoffs. I still have hope that we will make the playoffs if we trade for some guys at this deadline. I personally would love to get Josh Manson them extend him.. I know it would be a hard task, but it could work out very well for the oilers. Holland may get Forsberg if Smith is on LTIR, but I just hope he gets one with term. It will be interesting to see who he gets, I just hope he upgrades the team!
