22-23 opening line-up

Projecting the line-up for opening night.

I personally like the idea of spreading out the talent, keeping the kids line together. My worry is them only getting 10 minutes of ice time a night and if that happens it is going to hurt their growth. Top 3 lines should get even 5v5 ice time. I think Cuyle and/or Othman could crack the line-up, but would rather them go play more minutes in AHL/OHL.

As for first PP, I like Laf in the bumper position (replacing Strome). Second PP can be Miller or Trouba and the rest of the top players.

I think Reaves should only play against the "heavier" teams. I like Brodzinski for his speed and PK ability, so we don't have to rely heavily on Mika and Kreider for PK time as well. I disagree with them moving Reaves as he is a very good locker room guy and can bring the occasional "spark." If they decide to resign him next off-season, should be league minimum I imagine (fine with letting him go after this season). I wouldn't be against them trading him this off season to resign Motte but otherwise I think he stays.

The 3rd pair LD is going to be an internal battle between those 3 and whoever plays best stays.

If they are in playoff contention, at the TDL I think they try to move Kravtsov +package (1st rounder and other prospect likely) for a partially retained Kane (or other rental).
