NHL Playoff predictions

I know, I know it it only Preaseason but, I’m very high on my predictions for the playoffs. I mean I may as well talk about it. I will split this into many parts. One ACGM for each series. Agree or disagree?

WESTERN:

C1: Colorado Avalanche Vs. WC2 Vancouver Canucks

This was a pretty easy decision for who comes first in the West. Even though they lost Kadri, Kuemper and Burakovsky I still have the Avalanche coming out on top. I liked the Georgiev move. I think he’s a better goalie than Kuemper. Kuemper struggled last season. You may be thing “but they won the cup. Why is he bad?” Well let’s all remember that Kuemper at a SV% .900. Not good. They only won because of how many goals they scored and how good their defence was. The losses of Kadri and Burakovsky will hurt but I think it’s the time where Newhook finally become that top six player. The Canucks had a quiet off-season. They did get the likes of Mikheyev, Lazar and Kuzmenko but that’s about it. We don’t know how Kuzmenko will do but I hope he does well. Defense hasn’t changed at all. Rathbone appears to NHL ready. Demko is still their and Martin is a bette backup than Halak. I think the Canucks have gotten better.

Conclusion: Even though the Avs hot worse and the Canucks got better I still have the Avs in 5 games. Demko in my opinion is a top 10 goalie on the planet, but I don’t think he will be able to sustain the fire power that Colorado has. This is why I have the Avs in five games.
