Description

With all the talk about moving cap during the offseason, I think that there will be a ton of movement in season, I could see even if the Canucks are looking like they are headed towards the playoffs, guys like Myers, Beauvillier and Joshua get moved, that is 11M in cap space that would be moved, I think that the intentions of Rutherford et al. is to focus on a window that opens in 2 years and would probably be to pounce on some cap casualties that occur with teams looking to make their push for the cup and take on big name players and have to move out cap space.

One player in this I could see is Boston, a guy like Carlo could end up being moved because they acquire a #1C or someone who they see could fill that role like a PLD. The Canucks aren’t in the best spot for salary cap, but if we play our cards right the pay increase of our 2 big RFA’s next off season should be able to happen seamlessly. We need to help other teams round out their rosters and then take those pieces and get more core players with ours
