Description
realistically I think poulin won't make the team but I thought in this preseason him and big Z were the two best forwards. I didn't mind puusty but didn't show enough to get top 6 consideration. Nylander was very unnoticeable which was kind of surprising.

unfortunately Carter will play so I believe that the actual lineup will be with Nieto on the 3rd line and Carter and big Z on the 4th.

My only question is how was Nylander being a non factor in anything surprising??? Since he's been drafted he's always been below point per game numbers in the AHL and isn't good defensively. Like I don't understand at all any Penguins fan who was like yeah Nylander is due for a breakout this year and deserves top 6 time. Even last year he looked pedestrian beside of Malkin and Zucker.

For the record not saying you were one of those people, but I saw plenty of them throughout the off season.

It's the name. Just like Kapanen, Nylander has the curse of having to live up to his surname.

yeah I'm not one of those, never thought Nylander would have a 40pt season but still I expected a little more than nothing. plus that was his place to lose after last year and he lost it. not for what he did more for what the others couldn't do. and I believe he was outplayed by puusty for that top 6 role in case of injury and by 3-4 other guys for bottom 6 roles.

For me I never once thought Nylander even deserved consideration for the spot just because he does look so pedestrian in the o zone and if you're gonna have that you better be well above average defensively which he is well far from. Dudes a career AHLer which is sad to see, but it is what he is.
