Description

Jake is out for about 4 weeks. I seen the slightest hope we’d see Pittsburgh make the wildcard but the best it’ll be is outside a wildcard spot again tasting the results of mediocrity. The solution? Not sell off every piece there is honestly. Sid, Geno, Letang, and Karlsson are not going anywhere. And we really need to win with this core 4. Which call me delusional, we can absolutely still do it. Just not this year. The only way that happens is if the call ups all really step up and become what our 2016 call ups were to the team. Right now it’s just incredibly rough.

Trade deadline is March 8th and that’s not too far before Jake could play again, so it should hurt his value much if at all. To avoid having to sell him as a rental next year, we should move MP now. He could fetch a big return now. I think Eller is as good as gone at the deadline. Others that should be shopped are Ned who could fetch a middle rounds pick and Ruhwedel who isn’t worth much but shouldn’t be resigned. Reilly Smith could go in the offseason.
