Description

Rentals don't work for the Leafs (Schenn, O'Reilly, Acciari, Gustafsson, Hutton, Rittich, Noesen, Foligno, Nash, etc) after paying assets for them and then watching them leave in July.

...oh...and stop trading assets for depth pieces that aren't much of an improvement

I only have gone for players with a bit of term and who think should help. Only Nashville is in a playoff positon and it is in the bottom Wildcard position.

This is a LAZY who I want in and who can go out.

Those that can 'go out' have played for the Leafs this year and I put them in the LTIR column. Maybe some can be moved for draft picks.

I could pull together fantasy trades but they would be a waste of time

- good for 10-15 goals a year and would replace Robertson (who will probably get 15-20 goals a year)

- not a 6'6" behemoth but plays a solid defensive, physical game and would complement Rielly really well

- a tough LHD (like Benoit) that has a bit of an offensive upside (like Timmons). Could maybe play in the 2nd pairing 4th D (like Brodie) but that might be pushing it

- trading for him could make those 3 other defense men available to trade

- Schenn is overpaid and for a year too long but I wish he could anchor the 3rd pair

- Nashville just traded Trenin so maybe they would be willing to trade Schenn
