Is the team surrounding John Tavares good enough to justify investing 100 trillion dollars into it via a Tavares extension. In my opinion, that answer is no, and to prolong investment in mediocrity where occasional playoff births is the peak of ambition, to me is a huge waste of time. Time to manage some assets.

This will lead to the already shameful attendance of NYI to plummet, I propose a relocation... another Canadian team perhaps?

This team has a surprising amount of bad contracts, so a bit of Pump-N-Dump will be happening, which is one of the main reasons why I said "time to manage some assets" rather than "TEEEAARRR ITTT DOOOWWWNNNN"

Meaning, I am not blowing up the team in the hopes that some of the players with bad contracts like Andrew Ladd will have an opportunity to show that they may be worth the money they are being paid, so trading them without retaining salary or taking on a bad contract becomes a possibility.
