Description

When healthy this squad is mediocre but not terrible.
I would like to see anyone who is waiver exempt start and develop in Laval and get called up when injuries occur and after trade deadline if bodies are moved out.
TOP 6 talent is definitely priority #1 but IMO playoffs are not attainable next season regardless. So whether more offense comes this offseason, at trade deadline or next offseason doesn't make a difference. Maybe would be best to hold onto assets with the hope they go up in value rather then use them to buy now.
Sure there's a logjam at LD but none of the one's we want to trade are fetching more than a 2nd or 3rd rnd pick right now. Habs don't need that and can always get a similar return later if their values don't increase.
Only chip that can be part of a package for top 6 talent now is Habs 2024 1st rnd pick, I'd rather use it to pick Lindstrom Demidov or Iginla.
Most i would do this offseason is sign a veteran forward on a short term 2yr deal while this yrs 1st and other prospects develop in their respective leagues or AHL.
Duchene would be nice to play along Dach and Newhook.
Maybe Beauviller as a depth forward.
