      Who says you even take Vasilevskiy with that pick? And on the Cholowski/Chychrun point..... Just because one is in the NHL right now, doesn't mean the other can't be good. Cholowski seems to be doing very well in the WHL. I don't really understand these hindsight posts.

      Odds are they don't take Vasilevsky, with Howard being relatively young and injury free at that point in his career. The Cholowski/ Chychurn deal was 100% necessary. If they don't do that deal they are in Cap hell for the next two years (and the cap issue is already a massive problem). I don't think these were dumb moves by Holland (just dumb moves in hindsight) but you have to look at the whole picture. Franzen was the cheaper option at the time, Vasilevsky wouldn't have been drafted by Detroit because they had their goalie, and the cap trade with Arizona had to happen...
