I can’t see Boychuk fitting in financially if you’ve got both JT and Karlsson.

Probably not, but he cant get get moved and we have some big contracts coming off the books so it definitely possible to afford the 2.

With no increase the Islanders will have $33 million to sign 11 players Tavares probably gets 8 years $88 million and Karlsson 7 years $84 million that's still quite a bit of cap on two players good luck.

"With no increase", cap is already projected to go up to $78-82M after this year alone, so after Karlsson's deal is up after 2018 say they have an $83M salary cap
Tavares gets $10.5, Bailey gets a similar deal to Atkinson so around $5.7-8ish, Let de Haan, Kulemin, Halak, Seidenberg, Nelson, Chimera and Hickey all walk that frees up around $21 million in cap to only really sign Tavares, Bailey, Pulock and Mayfield. Easily attainable plus the cap increase leaves enough money to sign Karlsson to a $12M deal along with leaving money for Barzal the following year. Only blemish is they'd probably have to let Eberle go which I would do in a heartbeat if it meant getting Karlsson.
