That CBJ trade would be brutal for a contending team. They'd get a very good center, sure, but in exchange, they'd lose 3 capable forwards and a solid d-man... That's not what a playoff team can afford to lose.

Value-wise that trade is decent, but if the team were something else than a contender, it would be more realistic.

Columbus are far from contenders they are more so, wannabees at best. Jones for Johansen is fairly similar at the time. Lets face it CBJ aren't using Atkinson or Milano in perspective and Savard for Benning would be equal considering Benning would be cheaper and equally productive. Hence why I said Non-Realistic.
