Description
With the Sedins gone the Canucks have tons of cap space and a sizable hole in the leadership department without the twins. In order to get players with strong leadership qualities and acquire picks for the future the Canucks decide to make some moves.

Trades:
Hutton/Gaunce + Picks for Caggiula + Picks: Canucks cut the cord on the Huttons time in Vancouver as he hasn't fit in despite solid upside, the Canucks offer a higher pick, a bottom six player to replace Caggiula and a defenseman with upside. The Canucks get a player who gets to play a bigger role and do it with a player he is familiar with from his college days.

Seabrook+ for Granlund/Del Zotto+: Hawks dump a huge cap hit with a long term at the price of two high picks spread over two drafts, also they receive a serviceable bottom six player who has scoring ability. However the yalos have to take on Del Zotto for a year which shouldn't be an issue. The Canucks add a leader into the locker room a young player bound for Utica as well as a first for the 2019 draft they host and a second the next year.

Prospect+ + Picks for Eriksson: The habs get some scoring punch at a discounted price. Apparently Bergivan was interested in Eriksson as well. This is a reasonable add for the Habs, especially since a bounce back might help the in a playoff push or as trade bait later on. The Canucks free a roster space and get a decent pick for the 2019 draft

2018 Draft: The Canucks pick the best player available. Unless the yet a top three pick don't expect the player they select to make the big club next year. Hopefully they get an opportunity to pick a defenseman like Hughes or Boqvist, if not I'd also like Walhstrom too

2019 Draft: With the trades the Canucks have a ton of picks in the draft in front of their home fans. Since the Canucks are likely to get another high pick next year they should continue to bolster their impressive prospect pool.

Free Agency: The Canucks use some of their cap to bring in a hometown kid on a decent term. Kane might be able to replace some of the production that the Sedins would usually carry , especially if he clicks with Boeser and Horvat

Overview: With the Sedins gone the Canucks use the cap space to get picks and address leadership issues. They also use some of the space to make trades to get out of bad contracts and free space for the young talent ready to make the team their own. They also sign a player motivated to play in his home city in Kane that might help replace some of the Sedins production. Him and Caggiula become effective bridge players, who should be easy to trade give their limited term, when the Canucks might need the cap space.
