Description

Karlsson is an UFA the following season and would not likely resign with Philadelphia. If an extension was agreed upon right away than the value would be different. The flyers would be willing to give up their 1st from St. Louis as they still have their own. Laberge isn't gonna be anywhere near the NHL for probably 4-5 years. Philly has pretty solid center depth. They also have Frost, Patrick and Rubtsov as their rookie /prospect depth at center, the same implies with Ratcliffe and it will not crucially damage their center pipeline. Lindblom will be 22 when next season starts and has still not had a full season with the Flyers. While their LW side is somewhat weak it is strengthen by adding in Bobby Ryan who can play LW. The senators are known for drafting better in the middle rounds so they just snag in the two picks to even the value.
