Canes new owner wants to cut $$ and go younger, this gives them a young winger who can still work and a goalie who can easily be a 1B. Could easily add picks or other prospects but Skinner only has one year left and the Buds are doing the Canes a favor.

I would say maybe signing Vanek to a 1 year deal its alright especially if JVR, Komerov, Bozak leave but every leaf fan knows they need defense and not Skinner. But if i'm the leafs they need 2 things: Defense and a 3rd line centre if they don' think they will sign bozak or lindholm or and prospect centres won't be ready.
