Description
Playing with the idea of trading for Patches, plus switching up the usual "Parayko for Draisatl" offer by substituting Pietrangelo. No, I don't think Armstrong even considers doing that. I also don't think Patches could be had for an offer like that.
But--I DO think Tavares signs with this team, in a heartbeat, even without his old buddy Pietrangelo on the team. Can you imagine how hard that would be to play against?

Absolutely 0 reason to burn Pietrangelo on another center when you already got Tavares. Tavares, Schenn, Thomas is already the 2nd best 1,2,3 in the league m.

I wasn't "burning Pietrangelo on another center". I was upgrading our toughness on defense and acquiring an elite top 6 winger to play with Schwartz and Schenn...giving us a 1a and 1b line that the other deep teams in the west will have a hard time finding matchups for. I was also acquiring insurance should Thomas flare out, and keeping our best two way player (Steen) paired with our top rookie.
If it can be done within the cap, why would you be reluctant to add "too much" skill? Is that a thing?
