I'm a big fan of the theories that the Rangers should use cap space as a trading tool, though this is that idea on steroids. Not very realistic and I don't know if all trades would actually go through... But hey who really cares. This draft is stacked hypothetically having the 6,8,9,28,39, and 48 is kinda insane. I would probably trade some of the longer buyout contracts with retained cap in a couple of years at the deadline or draft and maybe even buyout Lucic if his play doesn't change. This would most likely make the Rangers contenders in 2021-22, a year later than most think the Rangers will actually contend but they would have so much more talent.
