Description

Short term, Ottawa acquires two young, controllable, affordable assets in Klefbom (who slots is as their #1D) and Strome (who slots in as their #2 C). Both former 1st round picks. Sekera is in for cap reasons, and Ott have cap space. and for D depth when he returns from IR. Salary does not count against the cap. Tyler Benson is top 5 Oiler prospect. Long term, EDM has $55M against the cap next year. Resign Karlsson at $11M, Talbot at $6M, Rieder at $3M, and that brings the team to $75M. Assuming the cap increases, JP and JK get bridge deals, and that leaves $3M for three roster spots along the lines of Rattie, Gravel, Upshall quality. Yamamoto and Bouchard will be on ELCs then.

ok so a Bust, a often injured but talented D, a prospect that B level and a aging injured D man and a 1st rounder for Ek..not even as a rental would OTT accept.

Why do Oiler fans think Lucic, Russell, Sekara, Strome, Kassian and Caggula have any value to anyone? All of those guys would take some level of sweetener to move and you certainly wont be getting Karlsson, Nylander, or Panarin back.
