Description
every player involved in this trade looks like they're in need of a fresh start somewhere. Bob is no longer the 1 in Columbus due to his contract situation and Korpisalo out-playing him. Allen's time seems to be up in STL. It's become pretty clear the team cannot win anything of significance with him in net. Kostin seems to be struggling mightily in the AHL (1-0-1 in 8 games for a terrible Blues AHL affiliate). The second round pick iand 3rd are moreso a long term filler and insurance policy should Allen and or Kostin flame out in Cbus. Sonny Milano also clearly needs a fresh start somewhere. Kid has tons of talent but hasn't been able to put it all together in Columbus yet.

Terrible for CBJ. Why would we give up Bob with 50%retail ed, and a possible 60 pt winger for 2 shitty goalies and 2 picks?

We could demand Allen, Blais, a 2019 first and a 2020 third at least

Bob isn't helping the team on the ice at all. He doesn't want to be here anymore and it can't be good for the team dynamic in the room. Might as well get an insurance policy 1B goalie as a backup plan for Korpisalo. And Milano is never going to sniff 60 points. I was holding out hope in the offseason that he could have a breakout year, but he hasn't even come close to even progressing. If anything he's regressed since last year. He's weak on the puck, slow to think the game, and consequently is unable to use whatever skill he has to make a play. Even when he does get time and space he seems to make the wrong decision every time, or misses a pass or shot by a significant amount. Kostin isn't a goalie either, he's a forward. Blais hasn't been impressive this year either, so he's arguably not even an upgrade relative to Kostin.

No sane GM would even consider giving up a first round pick for Bob this year... and STL doesn't have a first this year anyway.

Goalie market is completely different from skater market especially for rentals. It's an incredibly fickle position and Bobrovsky is statistically the worst in the NHK rn. Its a total pipe dream to think we're going to get golden pieces for him.

I agree I might have said too much , but I still think the original is an underpayment

That’s fair and understandable. As a CBJ fan I’d definitely want more than what i proposed for Bob and Milano, i just don’t know if it’s possible to get that kind of value for them anymore.
