I think you're undervaluing Carlson at $6M, but there's lots of cap room so that's possible. So 1 star for adding a player of value.

The deal with Boston is probably fine (so, 3 more stars for that) and would help Boston while giving the Oilers something for a departing asset.

Detroit is rebuilding and isn't going to trade for an ageing defenceman and a longshot. Caleb Jones is not close to the talent his brother Seth is. (So 1 star down)

Gauthier is looking more and more like he'll be a good player -- not a great player, but a good one. Carolina is also a pretty fast team. Lucic has always been slow and is getting slower. Carolina can absorb Lucic's crazy cap hit, so maybe there's a pick the Oilers could have, but no way two picks and a very decent prospect. (Sorry, another star off)

I thought that maybe the wings can use another experienced blue liner and maybe that the second was to steep and same with the lucic deal the second felt the same way for me but I don't think those deals are far off from what you rated it

Not even close for John Carlson try more like 7x7 or 7x8 and Detroit says hell no on the Sekera trade not giving up a promising Cholowski for Sekera.
