So McCarron and Alzner are worth the same as Benn? Perron won't sign for that price.

Of course they are. Benn's contract is 1.1M$ a year for another year and Alzner's one is 4.65M$ a year for another 4 years. It diminishes his value a whole lot, especially when MTL isn't retaining any salary...don't you think?

And for Perron, he had a really great season, of course, but his track record in the last 5 or 6 seasons isn't that pure, so that would be an easy argument of negociation for Bergevin. It still would be the best contract of his career, front loaded in the first 2 years (6.5M/5.6M/4M/3.3M for an AAV of 4.85M).

Make it Lock out protected and that should do the trick, something like 5M signing bonus the year of a potential lockout
