Why would Nashville give up so much for an UFA. To give a similar situation of players rights being traded before the hit free agency in 14-15 Carl Soderberg was traded for a sixth round pick to the Aves in the offseason. He was coming off a 44 point season and was going to be a UFA. James Neal is currently coming off a 44 point season so why would he receive a first, third and sixth round pick just for negotiating rights?
