It's a fun idea, but there's no way EDM goes for it. While I often chide Oilers fans for already having pre-retired Draisaitl's #29, this time I'd agree there's not enough going to EDM, especially since Pac isn't signed long term and Price was pretty horrible next year. Poehling would likely need to be looked at being included. That's probably fine as you won't have to wait long for Draisaitl, Veleno and Danault to be a pretty fierce 1-2-3. Rent Spezza for this year and Veleno will be ready next.

Or, keep Poehling and forget the draft picks. EDM would probably prefer to not give up that 10th overall, at least not without something like an option to flip firsts next year ... something like that.

Very interesting trade... If Price didn't look so awful this season I think the Oilers would consummate the trade, maybe add Poehling to balance out the age differences...
